Lumiforms is a generative fine art series that occupies a space between photography and code-based systems. The work combines the tactile, imaginative qualities of fine art with the unpredictability and procedural logic of generative processes.

Each piece begins with original photography, which functions as the foundational layer. Custom p5.js code is then applied as an optical mechanism, conceptually operating as both lens and shutter. This process mirrors photographic exposure, allowing light to pass through structured pathways and imprint a single, isolated moment.

The visual language of the series is informed by bokeh and optical artifacts commonly produced by lenses and filters. Out-of-focus highlights become geometric forms, which are reconstructed through code and brought to the foreground. These structures carve precise openings through which the underlying photograph is revealed, transforming background elements into the primary framing device.

Motion and variability are introduced through jitter, echo effects, and adjustable parameters including symmetry, density, scale, line weight, and outlines. A single random seed governs each composition, ensuring that every work is unique while remaining fully reproducible. The resulting images function as portals, offering a focused glimpse into a moment shaped by light, time, and perception.
